Reasonable Accommodation And
Undue Hardship
Under ADA by EEOC -This Enforcement Guidance clarifies the
rights and responsibilities of employers and individuals with disabilities
regarding reasonable accommodation and undue hardship. Title I of the
ADA requires an
employer to provide reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with
disabilities who are employees or applicants for employment, except when
such accommodation would cause an undue hardship. This Guidance sets forth
an employer's legal obligations regarding reasonable accommodation; however,
employers may provide more than the law requires.
Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance
Program -The
OPM administers the Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance (FEGLI)
Program. The FEGLI law, policies, and regulations issued by
OPM, including those governing eligibility and benefits, are
controlling in the event of conflict with these instructions.
All postal employees, except those specifically excluded in
ELM 531.3, or those who waive coverage, receive Basic Life
Insurance coverage. Entitlement to basic life coverage
qualifies them to elect optional life insurance coverage.
