New Examination Requirements for Automotive Technician, PS-7
Effective March 1, 2005, applicants must qualify on Examination 943 and the new
Examination 944 to establish eligibility for Automotive Technician. These new
written examination requirements for the Automotive Technician, PS-7, position
will enhance the selection quality of our future Automotive Technician employees
who play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our vehicle fleet. Offices
will have a 6-month window (until August 31, 2005) to transition and open the
exam and establish new Automotive Technician registers (3/3/05)

Arbitrator Denies USPS Grievance Regarding
Form 5505-
In an Arbitration
Award dated April 17, 2002, National Arbitrator Shyam Das rejected
the Postal Service's claim that APWU Step 4 grievance resulting
from management's revision of FORM 5505 was inarbitrable. Arbitrator
Das ordered USPS and APWU to schedule a hearing on the merits
of the Union's grievance challenging revision of Form 5505.
